  Why Codify?

  Codification is the process of consolidating your general and permanent legislation, then organizing it into a Code of Ordinances. The legislation is organized by topic (animals, business, etc.) or by department/title (Administration and Personnel, Revenue and Finance, etc.). Our staff attorneys compare the compiled legislation against state statutes and court decisions and adds the comments and recommendations which are reviewed during our onsite or virtual conference.

  Republication

  Republication is the process of taking your Code, along with all of your general and permanent legislation, adding in the ordinances and reprinting the Code. Unlike a Recodification, where Municode performs a complete Legal Review of the Code and republishes the Code for adoption, a Republication does not contain a Legal Review.

  Supplementation

  It is important that new legislation is incorporated into your code as quickly and accurately as possible. Our experienced editorial staff is divided into teams to provide a consistent editor, proofreader and indexer for your Code. The same team working on your Code over time allows us to learn your legislation and Code intimately to better serve you. It is as simple as sending your ordinances to us and we will quickly provide an accurate supplement.

  Legal Review

  In a legal review, our staff attorneys perform a legal review of the existing code and subsequent ordinances of a general and permanent nature against state statutes and court decisions. Municode then provides a legal manuscript consisting of the recommendations in strike through and underline along with comments backing up the recommendations.

  Hardcopy Subscriptions

  Municode can provide hardcopies of supplements to over 1,600 of the 3,000 codes that we publish. Once you purchase an annual update subscription through our estore, Municode will mail you the hardcopy supplement as soon as it is completed by our editorial staff.
