Republication and Reprint of Codes
Republication is the process of taking your code along with all of your general
and permanent legislation and then adding in the ordinances and reprinting the code
as updated. Unlike a Recodification, where Municipal Code Corporation (MCC) performs
a complete legal review of the code and republishes the code for adoption, a Republication
does not contain a legal review.
Editing
With a Republication, MCC simply edits the code to include ordinances and republishes
all of the chapters. The code is re-issued and the updates then start over with
Supplement No. 1 . You can change format, page size and font to have a more current
style.
MCC adds:
-
A listing of all sections within a chapter at the front of each chapter
-
Editing of legislation into the existing code
-
Catch lines preceding each section which describes the subject of the section
-
History notes, where possible, at the end ofeach section giving the ordinance number
from which the section is derived
-
State law references, which cite the applicatble state statute
-
Complete subject mater index
-
Page formatting, numbering, graphics and tables
Once the code is republished, MCC can provide the code in many different print and
electronic forms. MCC can also post the code online once adopted.
Updating the New Code
Once the code is republished, MCC will provide supplements or electronic updates
to the code as additional ordinances are passed.
